Müge Dalkıran

POST DOCTORAL RESEARCHER

Müge Dalkıran is a post-doctoral researcher at the Migration Research Center at Koç University (MiReKoc) in Istanbul, Turkey. In 2023, she received her Ph.D. degree in Area Studies from the Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara with her thesis titled “Legal Pluralism in the Common European Asylum System and its implications on refugee protection: The Case of Lesvos”. During her Ph.D. studies, she had visiting fellowships at prestigious institutes, notably at the Institute of International Affairs – oiip in Vienna, the Institute for Human Sciences (IWM) Vienna (January-March 2022), the Institute of International Relations – Idis in Athens (October-December 2019). With an MA in Human Rights Law from Bilgi University (2015) and a BA in International Relations from Galatasaray University (2012), she has been taking part as a researcher or expert in various projects on forced migration. Currently, she is post-doctoral researcher in the project of “Finding Agreement in Return (FAiR)” funded by the European Commission under the scheme of Horizon 2022, and the European University of Cities in Post-Industrial Transition (UNIC) funded by the European Commission. She has publications and analyses on forced migration, migration and asylum policies of EU and Turkey, and social cohesion. ORCID: 0000-0002-7249-288X.
