Perceived Security of Syrian Refugees: Facilitator or Impediment to Integration?

Short-bio:

Enes Ayaşlı received his B.A. in International Relations from Bilkent University in 2016 and M.A. from the same department in 2018. His research interests include forced migration, foreign policy analysis(with a focus on migration in foreign policy), civil war and Middle East politics. Having been worked as a research assistant at the Middle East Institute, Sakarya, he has concentrated on armed conflicts, group dynamics, and foreign policy orientations of third parties in the Syrian Civil War while publishing opinion papers in national and international media outlets. In his M.A. thesis, entitled “Mass Migration Movements to Turkey: The Cases of Turks of Bulgaria, Northern Iraqis, and Syrians”, he designed an analytical framework explaining Turkish state response towards mass migration inflows. He has also presented a range of studies in international conferences, some of which are published as book chapters, covering specifically the role of state, security and foreign policy in migration management. He is currently working on the perceived security of Syrian refugees as a research fellow at MireKoç.
